PARISIAN PIED-A-TERRE
BRIEF
To redesign a plain two-bedroom apartment in a leafy Melbourne suburb.
The client desired a space that felt warm, layered, and inviting, and one that
highlighted the terrace garden outlook.
DESIGN
“The client has an impressive array of antiques and artworks, so we took inspiration from grand Parisian apartments and created a beautiful scheme to highlight her collection. In the living and terrace spaces, we chose wide French stripes and paired them with sprig florals and fresh paisleys, then anchored the look with oversized checks and flame stitched textiles”, says Amy Spargo, Design Director.
“Warmth was added through statement rugs, lamps and a new pendant with custom lampshades over the kitchen island. The bedrooms are a celebration of colour, wallpapered in Chinoiserie and vine patterns in a pretty palette of soft blues, pinks and yellows, which reflect the sunny window aspect”.
A NOTE FROM THE CLIENT
"Amy understands mixing old with new, and amazes with bold pattern combinations that seem so diverse yet blend perfectly. I am forever grateful and love spending time in this apartment”
